Can an x ray rule out major problems?

for the past few years I keep getting pains between my chest and navel, it get worse after eating and drinking and standing. One doctor told me it was gas. Another told me it's constipation. I do have problems completing my bowels, going to the bathroom and horrid smelling gas. But will an x-ray rule out a blockage,chrome disease or any other type of gastro issue?
