Java won't run correctly?

Java works fine in google chrome, but when I try to use minecraft or minecraft server it says that Java(TM) Platform SE binary has stopped working (Windows 7 U.) I'v updated my java and minecraft files and nothing worked. It was working before I did a windows update. Is there something I can do? Also Minecraft works if I play it in google chrome.
