Why do i get sunburn easy?

ok im biracial anim naturaly tan and yesterday i went swimmin i did not puton any sun screen an it was 74degrees out an the sun was barely out i got home and noticed i had bad sunburn an this is not the first time about 3 weeks ago i was also swimmin and the same thing happened what is wrong with my skin im kinda getting worried
